Be Present Today

What a weekend we had at Saar Fellowship. We were joined by Pat Barrett for a weekend of worship that began with our weekly service on Friday morning. We talked about presence and praise, and how as new covenant believers the presence of God goes with us everywhere we go because of the finished work of Jesus on the cross and the coming of the Holy Spirit.

On Saturday we hosted a time of worship and Q&A with Pat and one of the wonderful things to come from it was the truth that

This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.

(Psalm 118.24, NKJV)

The idea that today is the day we are to be living, loving, praising, worshiping, fellowshipping, and communing…Tomorrow will take care of itself (Matthew 6.33-34) when we are focused on today and all that the Lord has for us today. We don’t want to be missing out on today’s blessings whilst we are worrying about tomorrow’s potential problems. Being present today is where God wants you to be.
